If you have open requests and will be unable to pick up items for a period of time (for example, vacations, business trips, etc), we encourage you to suspend your requests in order to avoid the $2 failure-to-pick-up-hold fee.
Please be aware that "in transit" or "available for pickup" holds cannot be suspended.
How do I suspend a request?
- Login to My Account and select the Holds Request Page.
- Under Requested Items not yet Available change the Suspend Until date on the right to the date you would like the request to become active again.
- Put a check mark next to each request that you are suspending.
- Click the Suspend/Activate Requests button.
Will I lose my place in the hold queue if I suspend my requests?
No. If your suspended request reaches the top of the queue and your suspension date has not arrived, then the request will not be trapped for you. Your request will remain at that top of list until your suspension date arrives and then it will be trapped when the item is next checked in.
How do I reactivate a suspended request?
If you want to reactivate a suspended request sooner than you had planned, put a check mark next to each request that you want to reactivate and click on the Suspend/Activate Requests button. Your request will no longer be suspended.
