Teen Tech Week is here!  Geek out at your library, March 4th through 10th! Libraries are chock-full of tech toys like CDs, DVDs and computers, and they’re a great place to get connected to online homework help, research resources, gaming, music, the Web and more. Pandora is an internet radio service that lets you enter your favorite song or artist and recommends other songs you might like.



Play fun and original games on this site.



Pop Candy is a pop culture blog that covers music, movies, and television.



Use this site for vocabulary SAT prep. For each answer you get right, they’ll donate 10 grains of rice through the UN World Food Program to help end hunger.



Watch animated cartoons starring Homestar Runner and Strong Bad.

Teen Tech Week: Doing More with Your Photos


Flickr is a great place to upload and share your digital pictures.  You can store and display 100 photos for free, and, you can use a free photo editor to make your photos perfect.  It’s also fun to look at other people’s pictures, and you can search by keywords to see a photo of just about anything.



Similar to Flickr, but with tons more editing options for your photos.  You can add effects and decorate your pictures with text or cartoon art.  You can store photos there for free, to share and display.



Do you really want to play with your photos?  Create stunning and professional looking digital scrapbooks with your own photos and videos and Scrapblogs backgrounds and decorations.  Print your scrapbook pages, or share them online-for free.

It’s Teen Tech Week at libraries all across the country.  Libraries are about more than just books.  They have music and movies, computers, and lots of resources to help you use technology to make your life easier, have fun, learn new things and do homework.  We’ll be blogging about tech stuff all week, so check often for updates.

Listen to music, and if it says “Download Free MP3” then click that to get a free song.  Music is in MP3 format.



Lastfm is great for listening to music, but they also have free songs to download at the above web address.  The song list changes weekly and music is in MP3 format.



mp3.com streams songs, but also has free songs to download and keep.  The web address above has the list of all their MP3 formatted downloads.



You might already be using ilike to share songs with your Facebook friends, but you can download from their website.  If a song has “free MP3” next to it, click that to download.
