Teens, thinking about getting a job?

Here are some quick tips from Janet, Job Center Assistant for Southport Library, for teens who are looking for employment. (Thanks, Janet!)

To get started, this article has great tips for teens who are looking for jobs for the summer.

Almost all food chains and stores want an online application first.  Then they suggest going to the establishment and introducing yourself to the manager.

The zoo hires for the summer, mainly in their concession areas. (The Indianapolis Zoo).

A great job that is always in demand is life-guarding.  The City of Indianapolis hires 300 every summer.  YMCAs, recreation centers, and parks do too.  The Red Cross offers life-guard training, CPR and First Aid Classes.
