School is back in session, so your daytime activities are covered. But what about after school? If you are like many teens, you head to your neighborhood library branch to meet up with friends and to use the computers. Next time you find yourself waiting to get online, ask whether the library has any board games. Many of them have a terrific assortment of games for patrons to play. Within the Indianapolis Public Library, there are librarians who are game gurus and who are eager to share unique games with you. A couple even attended and presented at the recent Gen Con Indy 2011 and may have some surprises up their sleeves!
For more organized play, Fountain Square Library offers a “Family Game Night” once a month. The next one is Tuesday, September 20th, from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. And College Avenue is presenting “Youth Night,” that same evening, at 6:00 p.m. Looking further ahead, add Southport’s “Family Game Day” to your calendar. It is Saturday, October 1st, from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
When gaming at the library, just remember not to shout “I WIN!” too loudly.
