Summertime Goings-On

Here’s a list of things to do this summer. A College Avenue Branch librarian was kind enough to send us these, some of which are specific to her part of town.

1) The Library summer reading program with a great array of prizes, movies, and workshops – all free! You can register now and redeem points for prizes from June 6-Aug. 1.  (

2) The “Real Men Read” program June 7-July 14 for guys ages 13 to 15 at Kaleidoscope Youth Center, 4186 Broadway, ( across from the library. Contact Ron “China” Jackson or stop by the library or Kaleidoscope ( for more information.

3) The Friends of Noah free picnic/cookout for teens on Monday, June 13, 5-8 pm at Holliday Park, 6363 Spring Mill Road, at the red balloons near the north parking lot across from the playground ( RSVP or learn more by contacting Henrietta Day at 317-374-7222, or

4) College Ave. Library “ Larger Than Life” Youth Night, Tuesday, June 21, at College Ave. Library at 6 pm, for ages 10-17. (
