Give us a comment. Let us know what you are doing. Have you started a recycling program at your school, are you a Best Buddy, have you collected money for a favorite charity or do you help out an elderly neighbor? Dallas Jessup, age 17, began a community service project that turned into a non-profit called Just Yell Fire, which supports programs that teach girls how to physically protect themselves from predators and sexual assault. Young Revolutionaries Who Rock: An Insider’s Guide to Saving the World One Revolution at a Time tells Jessup’s story and provides inspiration to teens looking for ways to volunteer and make this world a better place.
Last year, environmental science students at Maconaquah High School in Bunker Hill, Indiana, researched eco-friendly lunch trays. They presented their findings to the school board and school lunches at the high school are now served on the new trays.
No matter how small or how large your contribution to the community is, share your activities with us in the comment field. Maybe your story will inspire other teens to make a difference, too.
