Identical twins Meredith and Mallory Brynn were born a few minutes apart on New Year’s Eve. While growing up, the Brynn twins speak to each other in telepathic twin-speak, and they share dreams and experiences. On the night of their thirteenth birthday while babysitting their little brother and cousins, an unexplained fire consumes the house and almost kills all children. The effects of the fire create tension between the twins. Mallory begins to suspect David Jellico of starting the fire due to the strange dreams she keeps having about David. Mallory’s dreams develop into sudden blackouts at seemingly random times during the day. Resisting the urge to brush it off and move on with cheerleading, Meredith helps her twin to find out the mystery of David Jellico. Although The Midnight Twins contains realistic topics of scary images, death, and rape – Mitchard has written a masterpiece about twins and the paranormal and I cannot wait to read the next one!
