What kind of City do we hope Indianapolis will be in 2020?
How might the Indianapolis Public Library contribute to the City's progress?
These key questions will shape library service in the future. The Library has begun the process to develop a new Strategic Plan for the years 2015 through 2020. Hope Hampton, Director of Community Relations at Christian Theological Seminary, and Carey Lykins, President and Chief Executive Officer of Citizens Energy Group, Co-Chair a Steering Committee made up of community members to identify how Library services impact the quality of life in the city.
"Our goal is for people from all walks of life to offer their perspectives on the city's future and help us identify how the rich resources of the public library can contribute to a more educated, prosperous and vibrant community." - Hope Hampton
The Steering Committee oversees the work of nine task forces that focus on specific areas such as nurturing healthy and vibrant communities, embracing a diverse and global community, and aiding workforce readiness.
"This is an exciting initiative that, in the end, will enhance an already great library system and make it a more integral part of the community." - Carey Lykins
