- Better Business Bureau of Central Indiana Reports on Charitable Organizations
- Reports include any complaints BBB has received. Included is a link to the same type of information for national charities and other helpful suggestions for prospective donors.
- American Institute of Philanthropy
- Nationally prominent watchdog service that rates charities. Has a list of the Top Rated Charities. Includes a guide, Tips for Giving Wisely.
- BBB Wise Giving Alliance
- Formed by the merger of the National Charities Information Bureau and the Council of Better Business Bureaus' Foundation, and the BBB's Philanthropic Advisory Service, this site reports on "nationally soliciting charitable organizations that are the subject of donor inquiries." Charities are judged by the alliances specific standards.
- Charity Navigator
- Ratings of over 3000 charities, based on evaluations of financial health. Information is taken from the organization's tax return.
- Network for Good
- "A nonprofit organization dedicated to using the Web to help people get more involved in their communities - from volunteering and donating money, to speaking out on issues you care about."
- Publication 78
- Also called the Cumulative List of Organizations. The IRS list of organizations eligible to receive tax deductible charitable contributions.
