- Nonprofit Organizations include, among others, public charities, social service organizations, clubs, and professional associations. Check here for a helpful definition of what comprises nonprofit or "third sector" organizations.
- Idealist's Searchable Database of Nonprofits
- Enter "Indianapolis" or "Indiana" in the Search the whole site box to find a listing of many city and state nonprofit organizations. Information includes the organization's mission, services, contacts, and a link to their website if available. Nonprofits can add their organizations to the list, and, for a fee, post job openings.

- Indiana Secretary of State's Business Entity Name Search Search this site for Indiana nonprofits, as well as for businesses, by name. Some basic information is available at no charge, but there is a fee for more extensive information.
- Indianapolis-Marion County Community Directory
- From the Indianapolis Department of Metropolitan Development, a list of registered community organizations, including neighborhood organizations and business associations.
- Indianapolis Star Community Organizations
- The Indianapolis Star's guide to local nonprofits by type, including a list of support groups in the Indianapolis area.
- Nationalities Council of Indiana, Inc.
- The association of Central Indiana ethnic organizations. Read their newsletter, Ethnic Hoosier, and find out about the International Festival. Included is a list of member organizations, with links to those with web sites.
- Publication 78
- Also called the Cumulative List of Organizations. The IRS list of organizations eligible to receive tax deductible charitable contributions.

- An online directory of worldwide organizations. Includes IRS DATA ON NONPROFITS: Search for organizations that have applied for and been granted nonprofit (501(c)3) status by the Internal Revenue Service.
