This happy face, that's the goal, right?! This page will help you find good books to check out when your child is ready to begin to read herself. These books look like this on the inside:

These books have colorful pictures and feature subjects children are interested in like dogs, farm animals, trains, soccer, etc. The books also often star characters children love like Dora, Cinderella, Lightning McQueen, Dr. Seuss, Buzz and Woody.

Use this page to find the very easiest jZs. The examples below include a link to "More in this Series" which will give you a whole list of books at this level. Come to this page and put holds on several books at the right reading level and have them waiting for you to pick up in a couple days.

In the library, these books have a "jZ" sticker on the spine. The "jZ" stands for "juvenile easy." They are in order on the shelf by the author's last name.
