2009 marks the hundredth anniversary of the publication of Hoosier author Gene Stratton-Porter’s novel A Girl of the Limberlost, and this month’s issue of Reading in Indianapolis highlights the events that make up the Gene Stratton-Porter Festival that will be celebrated at the Irvington Library and throughout the Irvington neighborhood on Saturday, September 12th.
Still coming up on Thursday, August 27th at 6:30 p.m. is a discussion of A Girl of the Limberlost at the Franklin Road Library. Randy Lehman, site manager for the Limberlost State Historical Society, will give a presentation and lead the discussion.
