Indy Author Fair 2013 at Central Library

glicks-small2This year’s Indy Author Fair at Central Library is scheduled for Saturday, October 26th, from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.. The Eugene & Marilyn Glick Indiana Authors Awards will be presented that evening.

With the passing of Eugene Glick this week at the age of 92, it seems appropriate to remember the outstanding philanthropy of the Glicks, as described in the Indianapolis Star’s obituary.

More than 40 Indiana authors will be available for conversation, book sales and signings. Click here for a list of participating authors.


The winners and finalists (click on the award icon for info about them) of the 2013 Eugene & Marilyn Glick Indiana Authors Awards will discuss their writing and connections to Indiana.

Jeff Stone will lead a class for aspiring authors ages 8 and up, and also take part in a program for adults who want to write for children.



Gallant Fourteenth : The Story of an Indiana Civil War Regiment
Nancy Niblack Baxter will give an overview of publishing today, followed by a panel of publishers, editors, and writers who will address a number of issues.



The Lost Episodes of Revie Bryson
Bryan Furuness will be featured in a session about how to get started writing.




Painless Reading Comprehension
Darolyn Jones will be featured in a session called “Writing About Your Life”




King's Justice

Cotton's Law


Maurice Broaddus, Phil Dunlap and S.M. Harding will offer a session on writing and marketing genre fiction.



Beyond the Velvet Curtain: Poems


Indiana Poet Laureate Karen Kovacik will be featured in a session on the art of marketing poetry.



There will also be sessions on self-publishing and on marketing your book

The Indy Author Fair is presented by the Eugene & Marilyn Glick Indiana Authors Award and The Indianapolis Public Library, and would not be happening were it not for the Library Foundation and the Indiana Writers Center.
