A Gift Suggestion from Alice, and an Interview with Ashfall Author Mike Mullin, Featuring a Taekwondo Moment

November 19, 2012 by Reader's Connection

I asked our Facebook users if they knew of any books–with 2012 copyright dates–that should be added to my ongoing list of gift suggestions. You can make a suggestion, if you like, by commenting on this blog or reviewing a 2012 book in our Share a Review space.

Alice responded on Facebook:

For that Young Adult reader, Indianapolis-based writer Mike Mullin’s Ashfall . . .

          Ashen Winter

 . . . and newly released sequel
Ashen Winter
. I liked them too and they give me something in common with my 14-yr old grandson.

In case you don’t know, author Mullin has been participating in one of our Zombie Apocalypse Survival Workshops. Here’s a schedule of his remaining programs.

And here is Mullin being interviewed by the library’s Jon Barnes. I think it’s so cool that Mullin learned taekwondo in order to write Ashfall. No one was injured during the demonstration that you witness here.
