Indy Author Fair 2012

September 7, 2012 by Reader's Connection

On Saturday, September 29, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m, a host of Indiana writers will gather at Central Library for the 2012 Indy Author Fair.

You’ll be able to meet authors, and there will be panel discussions focused on different aspects of getting published.

The winners and finalists of the 2012 Eugene & Marilyn Glick Indiana Authors Award will discuss their writing and connections to Indiana.

Metropolis Burning

Indiana Poet Laureate Karen Kovacik will give a workshop on “The Unique Art of Marketing Poetry.”

What Can a Crane Pick Up?

Rebecca Kai Dotlich will focus on “Writing and Selling a Picture Book.”

Angels Whisper
Tips on “Marketing Your Mystery” will be offered by Tony Perona, Suzanne M. Harding, and Terence Faherty
Dance in the Dark

Stacks: A History of the Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library

Skip Berry will offer strategies for “Writing a Book Proposal.”

Bryan Furuness will give a program on “Getting Started,” for authors who are having a hard time doing so.

Looking over a list dated August 27th (and the PDF brochure that you can link to from within that list), I count about 60 authors who will be participating in the day’s events. I’m probably missing someone. The winner of the Indiana Author Award in the Emerging Author Category will be announced, and all winners and finalists honored, at the evening’s (sold-out) Awards Dinner.

The author fair would not be happening were it not for The Writer’s Center of Indiana, The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation, and The Glick Fund, a fund of Central Indiana Community Foundation.
