From September 15 to October 15, communities around the United States will participate in festivals and fairs in honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month. This year the Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library will join in the celebration!
On September 20, La Plaza will host its annual festival, Fiesta Indianapolis, at the American Legion Mall. More than 30,000 people from the community attend this event every year. We encourage the entire community to take part in the premiere Hispanic cultural celebration in the city. Enjoy activities for the entire family, including food, musical performances, and craft activities. Be sure to visit Central Library’s Learning Curve for even more activities! (PBS kids’ characters Maya and Miguel will be visiting the library between noon and 2:00!)
And the library is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with programs and activities at branches all over the county. If you want to look the program list over, go to the Events Calendar, type “hispanic heritage” in the Keyword field and click Search. You can limit the search to your area by selecting a branch (or a section of town) on the Location menu.
If you’re interested in subscribing to a regularly updated list of the library’s newest Spanish language titles, go to our RSS Booklists page and click on the “IMCPL’s Newest Spanish Language Materials” link.
