Screw Cupid: The Sassy Girl´s Guide to Picking Up Hot Guys

I’m not one to read a bunch of romance-flavored self-help books, as I think they’re all pretty much the same… They all tend to portray romance as a game of strategy– and perhaps, more than a dab of trickery– rather than as it really is (a perk of being able to get out there: meeting people, enjoying your life, and ‘rockin whatcha got’).  The book Screw Cupid: The Sassy Girl´s Guide to Picking Up Hot Guys by Samantha Scholfield, however, actually gets things right!  Not only is it laugh-out-loud funny, but it also provides you with PRACTICAL advice on how to get out and meet guys (or, really people, in general).  You learn ways to start fun conversations that can actually enrich your life– rather than just going out and feeling like you’re a porkchop in the midst of a gourmet meat market… It’s a quick read– perfect for the summer.  That way, you can actually go out to some of the local events and try your hand at her “method”.  I’ve already tried it, and its gotten me some GREAT conversation and a couple of phone numbers…
