Young ones who need to practice their reading skills are invited to tell a story to trained therapy dogs. Reading to dogs has been shown to increase children's reading skills and confidence. The therapy dogs are calm, patient, attentive and non-judgmental listeners. Each child will get a bookmark of the dog they read to that day.

The Library presents a free service for unemployed or underemployed individuals to receive one-on-one assistance to enhance their employment skills. The session will focus on job search strategies, interviewing skills, resume development, and instruction on basic computer skills. The Job Center is made possible by the Office of the Lawrence Township Trustee and Friends of the Library through gifts to The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation.
