- Beginning Sewing Series

Adults who have a sewing machine but lack the knowledge of how to use it are invited to learn to thread their machine, sew a straight line, install a zipper, cut out a pattern and make a simple pair of drawstring pants. This hands-on class requires participants to bring their own sewing machine. Some supplies will be provided, but participants will need to bring other items. A list will be provided upon registration.
- Irvington Halloween Festival Library Events

The Irvington Branch will host a number of activities as part of the annual Irvington Halloween Festival. Children and families can enjoy Abracadabra Magic with Magic Mike at 10:30 a.m., Animalia (live animals) at 12 noon, Silly Safaris (live animals) at 1:30 p.m., and Indiana Jim's Reptile Experience at 3 p.m. The festival will feature a street fair, booths, music stages, a run, food trucks and a beer garden throughout the Irvington district between Ritter and Arlington Avenues.
- Indy Author Fair: Meet the Authors

Individuals of all ages are invited to sit down with the winners and finalists of the 2016 Eugene & Marilyn Glick Indiana Authors Award as they discuss their writing and connections to Indiana. Book sales and signings will follow. This program will be moderated by John Krull, Director of Franklin College's Pulliam School of Journalism and host of “No Limits” on WFYI Public Radio. It will feature authors Karen Joy Fowler, Philip Gulley, Sarah Gerkensmeyer, Bill Kenley, Edward Kelsey Moore and April Pulley Sayre.
