Mary Agnes Hylton

Hi, I'm Mary Agnes Hylton, manager of the Eagle Branch Library. My favorite book is A Woman of Substance by Barbara Taylor Bradford. While I enjoy reading books, listening to a variety of music and watching old movies what energizes me most is spending time in nature capturing beautiful scenery and wildlife on camera while exploring local parks. Come explore Eagle today and allow us to guide you through a land of programs and services that take you beyond the books. Let your imagination wander!

About Eagle Branch

In 1960, after residents of the community petitioned for a permanent branch library, the first facility was opened in a storefront at 30th Street and Lafayette Road. This library had the distinction of being the first branch in the Indianapolis Public Library system to be located in a shopping center.

The current facility, located near 34th & Georgetown Rd., was opened to the public on March 16, 1970 with 12,000 square feet of space and a collection of 26,000. The branch has opened its doors to the Eagle Community over the past 30 years with a wide variety programs, a few fiestas and celebrations. The Eagle Branch Library currently serves an ethnically diverse community with a collection of 70,000 items.
