Artemis Fowl The Atlantis Complex

Artemis Fowl The Atlantis Complex

The Atlantis Complex

Just as funny and adventure filled as ever, this 7th Artemis Fowl book delivers everything you’d expect. Artemis, Holly, Foaly, Mulch, Butler, & Juliet are at it again -hoping to save the world from another evil mastermind. The trouble is, the usually strategic Artemis – the criminal mastermind who can out-think and outplay the OTHER evil masterminds, has LOST his own mind!

Artemis is suffering from Atlantis Complex, a disease that usually only happens to fairies. Since Artemis dabbles in fairy magic, he gets the Complex, even though he’s  a human. He is obsessed with numbers, paranoid & …nice. Weird!

When Foaly, Artemis and Holly get attacked by a space probe and stranded on a remote glacier, Holly is counting on Artemis to help her think their way out of another tight spot. Unfortunately Artemis is right there on the glacier, but his mind isn’t. The boy formally known as Artemis now calls himself Orion and is polite, kind and has impeccable manners.

“Holly shook the proffered hand, thinking that manners were lovely, but she really needed someone cunning and ruthless right now, and this kid didn’t appear to be very cunnng.” (page 106)

Even Foaly is shocked by the “new” Artemis.
I see Artemis has woken up. Good. We could do with one of his trademark apparently-ridiculous-but-actually-ingenious plans.” “Bivouac,” said the boy in Artemis Fowl’s head. “I suggest a bivouac, and perhaps we could gather kindling for a campfire, and some leaves to make a cushion for the lovely lady.” “Kindling? Did Artemis Fowl just use the word kindling? And who’s the lovely lady?” (page 107)

Is the ruthless, cunning, greedy, criminal mastermind Artemis Fowl gone? Or can he defeat this latest foe…that inhabits his own mind? Can Artemis find his inner evil self before it’s too late? Author: Eoin Colfer
