Many Cultures, Many Instruments
Children of all ages and families are invited to enjoy a musical walk around the globe. Yurtfolk will play a collection of uncommon and unusual instruments that tell a story about different cultures. Registration is recommended. Limit 35 children per session. Schedule

Graffiti-Inspired Word Art Workshop
Children ages 8 and up are invited to discover how perspective drawing and painting changed art forever. They’ll use one-point perspective to make words and names pop off the page. To create a bold statement, they’ll finish the work using color fill techniques inspired by the best graffiti artists. Registration is required. Limit 20 children per session. Schedule

Paper Bead Jewelry Workshop
Children ages 7 and up are invited to learn the worldwide art of using paper to make jewelry during this workshop presented by Art With a Heart. Registration is required. Limit 25 children per session. Schedule

Duct Tape Tote Bag Workshop
Children ages 8 and up are invited to create a tote bag for all their travels out of duct tape during this workshop presented by Art With a Heart. Younger children will need assistance. Registration is required. Limit 15 children per session. Schedule

Indiana Pacers Summer Reading Tour
Children of all ages are invited to take a reading time out with community helpers and leaders and read like a pro during this storytime. Afterwards, those attending can spin the “wheel of prizes.” No registration required. Schedule

Critter Chats
Children of all ages and families are invited to meet animals face-to-face and spend time getting to know about them during this presentation by Animalia. No registration required. Schedule

Critter Shows
Children of all ages and families are invited for an engaging show presented by Animalia that introduces them to up to five different animals. No registration required. Schedule

Summer Family Concerts
Children of all ages and families are invited to jam in any language this summer! Three different bands will play throughout the Library system, and kids will have a chance to help out with the music during these 45-minute performances. Performing bands include the Jump Starters Trio (Cajun & New Orleans jazz), The Tides Trio (Caribbean/island music), and the Heartfelt Trio (American jazz & pop). Schedule

Digital Lab Workshops
Children ages 10 and up are invited to use iPads to explore and investigate the digital realm. Registration is required. Limit 12 children per session. Schedule

Furry Tails With a Twist
Families with children ages 2 – 11 are invited as Minnetrista Theatre Preserves will bring theater to life. They’ll enjoy the production of “Furry Tails With a Twist,” a play by Jennifer Hickock DeFratis, featuring off-beat characters and puppets. Those attending will help deconstruct and reconstruct three beloved fairy tales. Registration is recommended. Schedule

Summer Library Concert!
Monday, June 23 at 6 p.m. Central Library, Clowes Auditorium, 40 E. St. Clair St. Those of all ages are invited to a special summer concert at the Library with Wizard Rock & Nerd Rock, a jam session featuring Kirstyn Hippe, Justin Finch-Fletchley, Tonks & the Aurors. Free and open to the public. Schedule
