Presenters will be Guy Hansen, Lilly Scientist in Residence, and Marc W. Gerdish, M.D., ACS, FACC, Chief of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery, Franciscan St. Francis Health. This program, to be held in Central Library’s Clowes Auditorium, is made possible by Eli Lilly and Company, Franciscan St. Francis Health, IOPO Foundation and Friends of the Library through gifts to The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation. The Indianapolis Colts are joining The Indianapolis Public Library to promote using your library card during the “COLTSTRONG, LIBRARYSTRONG” campaign through December 31. The campaign seeks to increase awareness about the many ways a library card can be used to take advantage of the free resources of the public library.

Colts quarterback Andrew Luck and tight end Dwayne Allen are spokesmen for the Library card campaign which includes TV and radio commercials and promotion through social media. It is one of the first community endorsements for the duo since arriving in Indianapolis. More Complete Rules and Details

Thursday, October 18, 2012 @ 11:00am Preschoolers and their families are invited to a free concert by the Imagination Movers, whose popular music and comedy series can be seen on the Disney Junior television channel. Their high-energy songs, which have sold on nearly 250,000 CDs and DVDs to date, are prized by parents for their non-condescending lyrics and music that evoke the Beastie Boys or Red Hot Chili Peppers more than Barney or the Wiggles. Their programs puzzle out solutions to practical and fantastical challenges, such as how to move a giant pumpkin or stop a sneezing attack, while demonstrating the band members’ lively comedic talents. Their television program has earned a Daytime Emmy Award. The band also has appeared on “Good Morning America” and “Regis & Kelly.” This program will be held in Central Library‘s Clowes Auditorium.
