Kidz Biz Workshop @ Central Library
Children ages 8-14 are invited to learn the skills needed to become successful entrepreneurs during Lemonade Day 2013 at the "Kidz Biz Workshop" on Saturday, April 6 from 1-4 p.m. at Central Library, in the Learning Curve, 40 E. St. Clair Street.
Lemonade Day takes place nationwide on Saturday, May 18, and is a free, fun, experiential learning program that teaches youth how to start, own and operate their own business using a lemonade stand as well as fundamental lessons about life, success and themselves.
In Greater Indianapolis, Lemonade Day is organized by local entrepreneur Scott Jones, who founded the ChaCha human guided website that provides real-time answers to any question.
During the "Kidz Biz Workshop," children will participate in interactive demonstrations and digital activities with real entrepreneurs, including Scott Jones, Josh Horrigan from The Chef's Academy, and Mitch Still from TCU. Topics include designing signage, making sales pitches, budgeting and shopping for supplies, and learning recipes with the Chef. Children also can sign up for their participation in Lemonade Day and receive their official backpack, which contains an entrepreneurial workbook and other resources. A parent or guardian signature is required.
Presenting sponsors include ChaCha, Ice Miller LLP, and TCU.
