Holiday Concert With Alina Celeste!

Alina CelesteFamilies and young children are invited for a special holiday program featuring national performing artist Alina Celeste during two special appearances in December at The Indianapolis Public Library. Her joyous blend of sing-alongs, dance-alongs and family jams will be on display on Saturday, December 21 at 2 p.m. at the Wayne Branch, 198 S. Girls School Road, and on Sunday, December 22 at 2 p.m. at Central Library in the Clowes Auditorium, 40 E. St. Clair St.

Celeste's music, described as catchy, relevant and historically rooted, has been bringing families together nationwide for ten years. Hailing from Miami, Florida, her Cuban-American upbringing exposed her to a wide range of popular music, from Celia Cruz to The Beatles. After years of playing in the Los Angeles area with her band, The Luvnauts, Celeste realized that her folky, upbeat sound trickled into the classroom where young students greeted her with rousing renditions of her own songs. Her first full-length album, "If I Were a Little Bird," is the fruit of those years of fun and learning. Celeste currently performs in schools, libraries and other venues.
