All Library locations will close at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, November 26 and will be closed on Thursday, November 27 in observance of Thanksgiving.


ALA Teen Read Week at the Indy Library

In celebration of the American Library's Association's Teen Read Week, October 13 - 19, local teens are invited to a number of fun and unique events throughout the month at various Indianapolis Public Library locations.

Teen Read Week, which features the theme "Seek the Unknown @ Your Library," is a national literacy initiative that encourages teens to become regular readers and library users. This year's lineup of events at the Indy Library includes:

Hunting the Haunted: Teen After-Hours
Saturday, October 19 from 6 - 11 p.m.
Central Library, 40 E. St. Clair St.
Teens and tweens ages 12 - 17 are invited to a special Central Library after-hours event. It will include a lecture by author and ghost hunter Jeff Belanger, who's seen on "Ghost Advenutures" and is host of "30 Odd Minutes." In addition, attendees can MuVChat during a showing of the film, "Ghostbusters," and participate in ghost tours of Central Library and other paranormal activities!

Tarot Card Workshop

Teens and tweens ages 12 - 17 are invited to participate in a Tarot Card workshop presented by Art With a Heart. During the workshop teens can create and design their own tarot cards.
