2013 Hometown Roots Concert Series
Individuals of all ages are invited to The Indianapolis Public Library's 2013 Hometown Roots Concert Series throughout the year at Central Library, in the Clowes Auditorium, 40 E. St. Clair Street. Inspired by American musical traditions, this series of performances is made possible by Friends of the Library through gifts to The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation.
The series concludes on Sunday, November 17 at 2:30 p.m. with two performances by acoustic singers and songwriters. Greg Ziesemer and Kriss Luckett will perform songs from the heart and soul of Americana along with contemporary folk music, skillfully blending well-crafted lyrics with polished guitar accompaniment and finely-tuned vocals and harmonies. The second performance will feature improvisational guitarist and performance artist Michael Kelsey with percussionist Michael Beck (founder of the band Dog Talk) in a program featuring many musical genres with fervor and grace. Kelsey's program has been described as "Cirque Du Soleil on acoustic guitar."
