Fall Fest 2012 Lecture & Slammin' Rhymes Challenge VII!

Families and individuals of all ages are invited for an afternoon of inspiration and cultural entertainment. Highlighting the event will be a lecture (at 2:20 p.m.) by Judge Glenda Hatchett, author of the bestselling book, "Dare to Take Charge," and well-known nationally for her syndicated television program, "Judge Hatchett." There also will be performances by Judah Band, Knights of Glory Drum and Bugle Corps, Granita Young - Zumba, and the G3 Steppers. In addition, there will be a poetry reading by Laverna Tracy. The afternoon will feature the Slammin' Rhymes Poetry Challenge VII and awards presentation. Teens can participate by completing an online entry form at www.indypl.org. Entry deadline is October 22. This event, to be held in the Clowes Auditorium at Central Library, is sponsored by the Library's African-American History Committee. |
