Monkey Business: A Preschool Art Workshop

Preschoolers are invited to grab their yellow hats and bring their favorite curious little monkeys to a mixed media workshop led by The Art Lab and inspired by the book, "Curious George Builds a House." Space is limited. Registration is required. This program is sponsored by The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation.

Patrons are invited to learn how to select and use eReaders, as well as search and download materials from the Library's extensive collection of eBooks, audiobooks and digital music. Patrons can drop in anytime during this two-hour visit by the Library's traveling eBook Tinker Station, which is staffed by an eReader expert who can answer questions about the equipment and collection. The Station provides reliable and unbiased information about this growing technology. The Tinker Helpline is also available to call for answers to your questions at 275-4500. This service is made possible by The Indianapolis Foundation Library Fund and Friends of the Library through gifts to The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation.



Character Club House Design Class for Kids

Let the Journey Begin: 200 Years, 200 Books!

As part of the Library's celebration of Indiana's bicentennial, the entire community is invited to kickoff a journey through Indiana songs, poems and 200 books. The journey will continue through the year as the InfoZone shares its favorite books and asks you to name yours.

They'll develop and implement a character into their own comic strip using double-tipped brush pens, color pencils, markers and sharpies. This program is presented by Art With a Heart.

Children ages 6 - 12 are invited for a hands-on look at dirt, rocks and plants that tell us where we live. They'll learn about earth, water and the basics of gardening in an urban or rural setting. They'll also take home a starter set of seedlings and make a bird bath! Kids should come dressed to mess!
