Alphabet Scavenger Hunt (30 minutes)
An alphabet story time activity followed by a scavenger hunt for letters where students digitally collect the hidden letters using kid-tough cameras. Next, students alphabetize the Chicka Chicka Boom Boom tree’s scrambled alphabet, and wrap-up by singing the ABCs.

Inspired by Illustrators (30 minutes)
An interactive story time followed by an individual laptop activity with KidPix drawing software. Students improve their mouse and screen navigation skills while visually expressing details introduced during story time.
Common Core Standards: English SL.K.4, SL.1.4, SL.2.4; SL.K.5, SL.1.5, SL.2.5
Little Architects (30 minutes)
During this collaborative stop motion animation activity using computers, webcams, and a variety of objects, students think about narrative sequence and express ideas through a series of images taken with the webcam.
Common Core Standards: English SL.K.1, SL.1.1, SL.2.5; SL.K.5, SL.1.5, SL.2.5
Robot Circle (30 minutes)
A group activity introducing the Lego Mindstorms NXT Robots. Students discuss and compare the five senses to robots sensors. Students experience the basic concept of action-reaction by testing a simple program using the robots’ object and touch sensors.

Story time in the Green Screen Theater (30 minutes)
A group story time activity followed by free time on the green screen theater stage. Students listen, respond, and discuss story themes during the read aloud. Additionally, students experience the magic of green screen technology as they take turns acting on the theater stage.
