Thanks again, Mo!

This last Thursday, favorite children’s author/illustrator Mo Willems delivered the annual McFadden Memorial Lecture for the library. Mo entertained the audience with storytelling, jokes, Q & A’s, and even taught the crowd how to make a mini-flipbook animation starring the Pigeon and Knuffle Bunny!

The month of March was all about Mo as we got ready for his much-anticipated arrival. In addition to Mo Willems storytimes, school groups created Mo-inspired artwork using Kid Pix software. Here is an example of a Pigeon portrait by Jaeden, a second grader from Lakeside Elementary:

Fun fact: We named our pet dinosaur robot Edwina, after Mo Willems’ book, Edwina, the Dinosaur Who Didn’t Know She Was Extinct!
