Applicant must be between 17 and 42 unless a veteran; otherwise, must be a high school graduate or GED holder or ability to pass the National Guard's GED Plus Program and able to pass armed services physical and aptitude requirements. Applicants must swear allegiance to America and defend against enemies both domestic and abroad and be willing to dedicate one weekend per month and 2 weeks per year to participate in military training as well as serve when called upon.
