St. Vincent Health STAR Program 9001 N. Wesleyan Rd., Indianapolis [46268] Provides job readiness training to those with low or no skills who are interested in working in a healthcare environment. Training topics include how to complete applications, resumes, interviewing techniques, budgets, understanding paychecks and deductions, conflict resolution, dressing for success, avoiding sexual harassment, self-esteem building and other life skills. Classes meet four hours a day for six weeks. Students are then placed with a mentor at St. Vincent for up to six weeks. After they complete the program, they are eligible to apply for open positions at St. Vincent or other employers. All applicants must meet requirements of Human Resources including a drug screen, complete physical and criminal background check.
