ABOUT THE LIBRARY
Shelby Branch to Provide Limited Services During Interior Renovations
Library services will be reduced during a month-long re-carpeting and painting project beginning Monday, October 6 at the Shelby Branch of the Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library, 2502 Shelby Street.
The branch will be closed on Monday, October 6 and will reopen on Tuesday, October 7 with limited services for patrons out of the branch community room.
Patrons can visit this "mini-library" to return materials, pick up items being held for them, use the copy machine, and browse a limited selection of the branch’s fiction, DVD and reference collections. There will be no public Internet access available on branch computers. The "mini-library" will be in operation while the main areas of the 6,500-square-foot facility are being re-carpeted and painted.
Once completed, the branch will be closed on Monday, November 3 (tentative date) in order to move materials back into the main area and will reopen to the public for full service on Tuesday, November 4.
The cost of the renovations is $26,525. The carpet contractor is E. F. Marburger of Indianapolis. The painting contractor is Trauner Services, LLC of Fillmore, Indiana.
