ABOUT THE LIBRARY
IMCPL Offers New Online Reference Databases

Library patrons now have access to 65 full-text online databases through the Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library's website at www.ilibrary.org
Online visitors with a valid IMCPL library card can find databases in the areas of business, health, literature, history and science, as well as standard library reference sources, e-books and full-text articles from magazines and newspapers. The databases provide researchers of all ages with timely, accurate and reliable information.
Three new databases recently have been added. Gale Virtual Reference Library provides electronic access to selected reference resources in such categories as the arts, business, history, law, literature and medicine. It is regarded as a valuable homework resource for students and can be accessed from any local library or remote location such as home or work.
Mergent Moody Online Manuals is a collection of business descriptions, financial statements and the comprehensive history of corporate America dating back to 1909. This new database can only be accessed from any IMCPL location.
Also available only at IMCPL locations is Photofact, a database of repair manuals for consumer electronics such as TVs and radios. Researchers can find information on TVs as far back as 1946, as well as manuals of antique radios, car audio, VCRs, CB radios, tape recorders and other categories of electronics.
Support for the databases is provided by IMCPL and the INSPIRE network, funded by the State of Indiana. IMCPL also receives a grant from the Library Fund of The Indianapolis Foundation, a Central Indiana Community Foundation affiliate, for subscription to 15 commercial databases that comprise the Marion County Internet Library.
From the Library's homepage, patrons will find the databases by clicking on the major category, "Guides and Resources," or on the specific sub-category, "iLibrary Online Databases."
