The Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library, Indiana Historical Society and Indiana Pacers have announced the winner of the 2008 Indiana Black History Challenge. The winner is Josh Monday, a sixth grader at Indianapolis Public School #78. He was honored at halftime of the March 31 game between the Indiana Pacers and Miami Heat at Conseco Fieldhouse. This year's Indiana Black History Challenge attracted over 2,600 participants. In celebration of Black History Month in February, the trivia game focused on noteworthy events in Indiana history and the contributions of African-American Hoosiers. In addition to the Grand Prize winner, 10 other winners were selected who received prizes courtesy of game sponsors. |
