Plein Air, Paint Out Winners Announced
The public enjoyed a "en plein air" and explored the colorful world of nature through art during the 3rd annual "Plein Air Paint Out" on Saturday, August 4 at Garfield Park and the Shelby Branch of the Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library, 2502 Shelby Street.
Talented artists captured the many scenic landscapes of Garfield Park in whatever medium they choose. Also, several arts and crafts activities for families and children took place throughout the day, including face-painting, a sidewalk-chalk coloring contest, and a Children's Masterpiece Table.
Artists' paintings were juried and cash prizes were awarded at the closing awards reception at the Shelby Branch.
Best in Show winner was Ray Hassard of Cincinnati, Ohio. Second place was awarded to Morris Kurz of Indianapolis and Bonita Shellenberger of Martinsville, Indiana. The third place winners were Heidi Harner of Lafayette, Indiana, David Seward of Zionsville, Indiana, and Ellen Griffin of Greenwood, Indiana. Fourth place was awarded to Jeremy Mallov of Fishers, Indiana, Mary Ann Davis of Indianapolis, and Ron Mack of Indianapolis.
This event was co-sponsored by IMCPL, the Arts Council of Indianapolis and Indy Parks.
