IMCPL Initiates Search for Permanent Chief Executive Officer
The Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library Board of Trustees has announced that it is beginning its search for a permanent Chief Executive Officer to plan and direct the operations of the IMCPL system.
"We are seeking an individual familiar with the Indianapolis library system and the greater Indianapolis area," stated Library Board President Louis Mahern.
Mahern adds that interviews for determining final candidates will be conducted during the Library Board of Trustees Executive Session on Monday, Sept. 17 beginning at 2:30 p.m.
Application deadline to the IMCPL Human Resources Office, P.O. Box 211, Indianapolis, IN 46206-0211, is Tuesday, September 11.
The position of Chief Executive Officer requires a Master’s Degree in library science and at least ten years of progressively-responsible experience in a public library setting.
In addition to managing the operations of the newly-transformed Central Library as well as IMCPL’s 22 branch locations, the new Chief Executive Officer will be directing the Library’s next long range plan for future operations.
Since the beginning of 2007, the Library has been under the direction of Interim Chief Executive Officer Laura Bramble.
