ABOUT THE LIBRARY

Artist Jeanne McLeish of Mooresville was the Best of Show winner at the 2nd annual Plein Air, Paint Out at Garfield Park and the Shelby Branch on Saturday, August 5. McLeish earned $500 for her oil painting entitled, "Pleasant Day on Pleasant Run." The event was co-sponsored by the Library, Indy Parks and the Arts Council of Indianapolis. Second place winners ($250 each) were Ronald Mack and Rick Wilson. Third place winners ($100 each) were R. Carol Skinner, Mary Ann Davis, Corinne Hull, Mark Burkett and Lawrence Ruddlech. Fourth place winners ($25 gift certificates) were Bonita Snellenberger, Tom Slack, Virginia Kramer and David Seward. Honorable mention (IPAPA's "Paint Indiana: Portraits of Indiana's 92 Counties" artbook) went to Patty Coulter, Donna Stader, Chris Stewart and Nancy Foureman. Over 50 artists participated.
