"This is my Mexico" Art Contest Winners Announced

The Mexican Consulate's Office in Indianapolis and the Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library honored local winners at the Glendale Branch Library in the recent national "This Is My Mexico" art contest. Children ages 7 -11 were invited to create art that illustrated their impresssions of the culture and traditions of Mexico.
Local winners were nine-year-old Thomas Day, a patron of the Nora Branch, 8625 Guilford Avenue, whose work was entitled, "The Music of Mexico," and 10-year-old Laurencia Borgerhoff, a patron of the Glendale Branch, 6101 N. Keystone Avenue, whose work was entitled, "The Foods Mexico Gave the World."

Winners received certificates, drawing kits and books.
