Construction Management Firm Completes Central Library Project Team

The Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library moved beyond its final legal and administrative milestone this week when the Indiana State Tax Control Board granted approval for IMCPL to issue up to $55 million in bonds for the renovation and transformation of Central Library downtown.

IMCPL Approves Owner's Representative for Central Library Project

Beginning a new phase in planning for the $103 million renovation and expansion of Central Library, the Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library Board of Trustees has voted to enter into contract negotiations with the Indianapolis construction management firm of Scott-Hilliard-Kosene to provide Owner's Representative services for the duration of the project.

Central Library Project Receives Regional Center Approval

In what represents one of the final regulatory milestones, the Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library received Regional Center approval on Wednesday, October 3, 2001 from the City's Metropolitan Development Commission for the proposed $103 million transformation of Central Library downtown.

Old City Hall to Become Temporary Downtown Library

In an agreement with the City of Indianapolis, the Old City Hall located at 202 N. Alabama Street, will become home to materials currently housed at Central Library during its expansion and renovation.
