IMCPL Approves Owner's Representative for Central Library Project
Beginning a new phase in planning for the $103 million renovation and expansion of Central Library, the Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library Board of Trustees has voted to enter into contract negotiations with the Indianapolis construction management firm of Scott-Hilliard-Kosene to provide Owner's Representative services for the duration of the project.
The firm was selected through a process which included a Request for Qualifications and a four-stage interviewing process.
As Owner's Representative, the firm will be the IMCPL's full-time representative in dealing with design and construction issues. This will include providing assistance in the preparation of construction designs and in the hiring of a construction management firm.
Prior to an anticipated groundbreaking for the Central Library project next summer, Library Trustees will focus on completing building designs, reviewing construction bids and awarding construction contracts.
Construction is scheduled to begin in late 2002, with completion scheduled by January, 2006.
