Indianapolis School Chooser Guide Available at Indy Library Locations
March 12, 2013
An informational guide for parents that helps them determine the best place to send their children to school is available for free pickup at all locations of The Indianapolis Public Library.
The Indianapolis School Chooser Guide, available in both English and Spanish, is a 140-page resource that includes programming information, key deadlines, transportation, fees and academic data gathered from all 11 public school districts, public charter schools, and non-public schools in Marion County, and the Indiana Department of Education.
Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard was joined by Library CEO Jackie Nytes and other local representatives at Central Library for the release announcement.
"Indianapolis a leader in education," said Mayor Ballard. "There are many great options for parents looking for the right place to send their children. The School Chooser Guide is the best resource available to help them make the right decision."
The guide is published by GreatSchools in partnership with Stand for Children, Indiana Public Charter Schools Association, Indiana Non-Public Education Association, School Choice Indiana and The Indiana Partnerships Center. This is the second year for the School Chooser. Last year, 15,000 guides were picked up across the city. The guide was also accessed hundreds of times online.
