Jackie Nytes Begins Tenure as CEO of The Indianapolis Public Library

The 14th director in The Indianapolis Public Library's illustrious history dating to 1873 has begun her tenure as the Library's Chief Executive Officer.
Jackie Nytes succeeds Laura Bramble, who retired after 41 years in the library industry including the past four years serving as Library CEO. Nytes recently ended an 12-year stint as Indianapolis City County Councillor in District 9 and a four-year term as Executive Director of the Mapleton-Fall Creek Development Corporation.
From 1998-2001, Nytes served as The Indianapolis Public Library's Chief Financial Officer. Prior to that, she acted as the Library's Associate Director of Management Services. From 1981-1988, Nytes was Director of the Carmel Clay Public Library.
Nytes attended the University of Wisconsin where she received a BA in Political Science and Masters in Library Science.
In addition, The Indianapolis Public Library Board of Trustees has selected its 2012 slate of officers. President Jim Lingenfelter has served on the Library Board since 2009. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects and owner of Five2Five, a design-oriented firm that provides planning and architectural services for different types of projects. Vice President Dorothy Crenshaw has served on the Library Board since 2009 and recently retired as Chief Information Officer in the Information Technology Division for the Indianapolis Public Schools system. Secretary Robert Bonner was appointed to the Library Board in 2011 after a professional library and university career that included positions at Penn State University, Indiana University and Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis.
