April 20, 2015 — As part of the month-long celebration of "The Big Read," during which Indianapolis residents are encouraged to read The Beautiful Things That Heaven Bears by Ethiopian-American author Dinaw Mengestu, the author will visit Indianapolis to discuss the book's theme and his own immigrant experience on Saturday, April 25 at 2 p.m. at Central Library, 40 E. St. Clair Street.
April 15, 2015 — National Crime Victims' Rights Week is observed each year as a way to create more public awareness of - and knowledge about - the wide range of rights and services available to people who have been victimized by crime. The theme for National Crime Victims' Right Week 2015, April 19-25, is "Engaging Communities, Empowering Victims."

This year's celebration, "Unlimited possibilities @ your library," recognizes the contributions of our nation's libraries and librarians and to promote the use and support of all types of libraries.
